Justin Timberlake Arrested in the Hamptons

In news first reported by ABC News, Justin Timberlake was arrested Tuesday morning at 12:37 for allegedly driving while intoxicated. Timberlake’s arrest took place in Sag Harbor, New York.

Timberlake, 43, was arraigned Tuesday morning. Later in the morning, Edward Burke Jr., Timberlake’s defense attorney, confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that the star was charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and was released without bail. On Friday, Timberlake will have a virtual court appearance.

“On June 18, 2024, at 12:37 AM, Justin R. Timberlake, age 43, of Tennessee, was observed operating a 2025 BMW southbound on Madison Street, failing to stop at a duly posted stop sign and failing to maintain his lane of travel,” reads a police statement from the Sag Harbor PD. “A traffic stop was initiated by a Police Officer from the Sag Harbor Village Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Mr. Timberlake was placed under arrest, processed, and held overnight for morning arraignment. Mr. Timberlake was arraigned at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on June 18, 2024, at 9:30 AM where he was released on his own recognizance.”

The report went on to say that Timberlake had a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” on his breath, an inability to divide attention, slowed speech and an unsteadiness afoot. Additionally, he “performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” and allegedly refused to submit to a breathalyzer test.
