10. Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke

Starting off our list is Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke from Summer House. They’ve been together for more than 10 years, and have gone through so much together — including a couple of cheating scandals. If you watched this last season of Summer House then you know that they still continue to have major arguments to this day. We’re sure it doesn’t help that they also work together at Kyle’s company, Loverboy. During season 8, you could see how fed up they were with each other, and at times even questioned if they could continue to be together.
9. Jax Taylor and Stassi Schroder

An iconic couple that people to this day continue to talk about. Even though they’re no longer together (and it’s definitely for the better), they had an incredibly tumultuous relationship. They would have huge fights and blowups on the first season of Vanderpump Rules, with rumors circulating that that Jax cheated on her on a trip to Vegas, which he later confirmed. He then spent the whole next season trying to get her back until he later confessed that he slept with her best friend Kristen Doute. After that, it was the final nail in the coffin for Stassi — and could you blame her?
8. Lala Kent and Randall Emmett

For a long time on Vanderpump Rules, fans and cast members alike were trying to figure out who Lala’s “mystery boyfriend” was. After a bumpy road and Lala constantly being called a homewrecker, it came out that she was seeing a man named Randall Emmett, who eventually became cast member on the show. Although they got engaged and had a child named Ocean, there were rumors were circulating that Randall may have cheated, and soon enough they split. The rumors intensified, and it eventually came out that he had cheated on her with multiple women.
On top of that, The Los Angeles Times came out with an exposé that detailed how Emmett would offer roles in exchange for intercourse, and there was even a Hulu docuseries about it. To this day, Lala does not have a good relationship with him and is still fighting an intense custody battle for their daughter Ocean.
7. Erika Jayne and Tom Girardi

These two had a 33 year age gap and a story very similar to Lala and Randall’s. Although Tom Girardi wasn’t seen much on Real Housewives, there were many scenes where the producers flash back to him speaking down to Erika. Even though there were small glimpses of why they may have split on the show, it came as a complete surprise when she suddenly she filed for divorce in 2020. Only a month after the news of their divorce, we learned they were getting sued for allegedly embezzling money to fund their lifestyle. And soon after the documentary The Housewife and The Hustler comes out on Hulu, which showed people accusing Tom and Erika of all their wrongdoings. The legal investigations are still going on, and only time will tell what happens.
6. Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright

This is one of Bravo’s most recent split which has been documented, which has distraught many fans who had assumed they had been a perfect fit. The entirety of their relationship was shown on Vanderpump Rules and most recently extended into The Valley. A couple of years into their relationship, Jax admitted to cheating on Brittany with VPR alum Faith Stowers. This was when Brittany said her iconic line of “rot in hell.” They tried to work out their problems and Brittany took him back. It wasn’t much later that they broke up one more time before they ultimately became engaged.
The couple got married in 2019 and accounted for their pregnancy in 2020. But if you watched The Valley, you can clearly see their problems brewing. As of June 2024, it has been revealed that Jax and Brittany are “taking time apart,” with Jax being spotted in public with other women. Although one would assume this means the official end of their relationship, we are still left in the dark as to what they are deciding to do.
5. Lindsy Hubbard and Carl Radke

Another one of Bravo’s most recent splits. This pair had been friends forever and dated for a brief moment in 2019, but ultimately called it quits because Lindsey was looking for something a bit more serious. They started dating yet again in late 2021. It was a whirlwind romance because they got engaged relatively quickly in summer 2023, and were planning their wedding for November 2023. As you could see in season 7 of Summer House, they definitely had their ups and downs. But now you can see their volatile relationship in season 8, specifically the last couple of episodes.
It wasn’t until the last episode of season 8 that Carl officially broke up with her and called off the wedding. At the reunion, they both talked about being scared of each other and locking themselves in different rooms because they weren’t sure what might happen. This is definitely not a pair that should be together and hopefully, they have come to realize that now.
4. Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney

This iconic couple was actually set up by one Kristen Doute, so what could possibly go wrong? They met in 2011, even before Vanderpump Rules first aired. If you watched the seasons throughout the years, you can clearly see the ups and downs this couple had. They would have big arguments, and there was a period of time when Tom would cheat with random girls when they were together. At one point, Tom even poured a drink on Katie’s head because he didn’t want to hear her talk anymore.
Of course, the next logical step after all this fighting was to not address it, and instead get married. Unsurprisingly, once this couple actually got married it only went further downhill from there. Their fighting on camera just continued to grow, and Tom was unsupportive of Katie and would even say that he wasn’t attracted to her anymore. Ultimately, they announced their split in 2022 and we think nobody could argue that it was the wrong choice.
3. Vicki Gunvalson and Brock Ayers

This couple had to be in the top three messiest couples. They were on and off from 2012-2015, and many of the women on the cast of RHOC didn’t like him. Not only did Brock not get along with her best friend Tamera, he also didn’t get along with her daughter Briana. In fact, Brock wasn’t allowed to visit Vicki’s home when Briana was living there. Brock made her an enemy by hitting on her and then also telling Briana’s husband that he should hit Briana to put her in line.
To make matters worse, Brock claimed he had been diagnosed with cancer which ultimately ended up being a total hoax. Vicki fell for it and tried to take care of him as much as possible, but in 2015 he admitted to fabricating documents about his cancer treatment. They broke up and in 2019 she sued him for breaching a written agreement, breaching a verbal agreement, fraud, misrepresentation and multiple other claims related to money had never paid her. Let’s just say this wasn’t a match made in heaven.
2. Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix

Ah, the Scandoval. One of Bravo’s most dramatic ever endings (and still feeling the fallout today) was between Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix. They had been together for 10 years when Tom ended up having an affair with VPR cast member Raquel, one of Ariana’s good friends. Ariana only found out when one night she went through his phone and found a video of them.
After they ended, Tom and Ariana continued to live together in the same house they bought and would have to have their assistants mediate when each other could or couldn’t be downstairs so that they would never have to see each other. On season 11, you can see this play out as well as you could imagine — terribly. It created a divide within the group and people are even asking if Vanderpump Rules can really continue after this.
1. Tom Sandoval and Kristen Doute

If there’s anything you can take from this list, perhaps it’s to avoid Tom Sandoval. These two were by far the messiest couple or the messiest people — even when they were not together. These two would endlessly cheat on each other, and even when they weren’t, Kristen was obsessed with trying to catch him “cheating” on her with Ariana (his future new girlfriend). But besides that, Kristen would constantly try to pick explosive fights. On the show, it looked like it took Kristen a long time to move on even when Tom was already dating Ariana, but now after the dust has settled, it looks like Ariana and Kristen are friendly with each other.
